Terms of Service

Audio Cleaner Pro is provided by Steven Alston, and using it means you accept these terms. Listening and every control are free, exporting is paid, and your audio stays yours. This page sets out that arrangement in full, under the law of the State of California.

1. Who provides this service

Audio Cleaner Pro is provided by Steven Alston, an individual. These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the State of California.

2. What the service is

Audio Cleaner Pro is a browser-based pre-mastering tool. It decodes a file you choose, runs a corrective chain over it — rumble guard, sub-bass filter, de-esser, a twelve-band equalizer, stereo width, compression, a loudness target and a fade envelope — and renders the result back to you as a WAV or MP3 file. The processing happens locally in your own browser.

The service is offered as it stands. It is a corrective pass rather than a remix, a repair of damaged files, or a substitute for a full mastering chain, and no particular result is promised: what comes out depends on what you put in.

3. Your audio stays yours

Ownership of every file you load and every file you export remains yours. Nothing in these terms gives me any claim over your recordings, and because processing happens in your browser, no copy of them is ever held here.

You confirm that you hold the rights to the audio you process — that it is your own work, or that you have permission from whoever holds those rights.

4. Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to use Audio Cleaner Pro. If you are under 13, please do not use the service.

5. Accounts

Listening to a track and moving every control needs no account. An account is needed only for export access, and it holds an email address and, if you give one, a name.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself and for what is done with your account. You can ask for your account and its purchase records to be deleted at any time through the contact page.

6. Price, billing and cancellation

Exporting is the only part of the service that is paid for, and every account starts with three exports a day. A pack of twenty export credits costs $3 as a one-off purchase and never expires, and unlimited exports cost $5 a month. Prices are in US dollars.

Payments are handled by Stripe, and a receipt is sent by Stripe to the address you give at checkout. The monthly plan renews until it is cancelled: you can cancel at any time from the link on your Stripe receipt, and access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Export access is granted by the purchase record held on the server behind the app, not by anything stored in your browser.

7. Refunds

Refunds are considered case by case. If something has gone wrong with a purchase, write through the contact page with the email address you used at checkout — purchases are recorded against it — and the request is looked at individually. Nothing on this page entitles you to a refund automatically, and a credit that has already been spent on an export is consumed.

8. Acceptable use

Use the service only for audio you are entitled to process. Do not use it for anything unlawful, do not resell or redistribute the service itself, do not try to get around the export gate or the credit ledger, and do not attempt to disrupt or overload the app or the platform it runs on.

9. Availability and changes to the service

The service is offered as it stands and may change. Controls can be added, altered or removed, and the app may be unavailable while it is updated or while a service it depends on is down. Free listening is expected to stay free, but nothing here promises that any particular feature stays exactly as it is.

10. Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, the service comes with no warranty that it will suit your purpose or produce a particular result, and I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses — a lost recording, a missed release, or lost revenue. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the export or subscription period in question. Nothing here limits rights you have under California law that cannot be given up.

11. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the foot of this page changes with them, and the version on this page is always the current one. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the terms as they then stand.

Questions about anything on this page go through thecontact page, and a reply comes back to the address you leave there.
